Hello and Welcome to WordPress

Here you will find links to my educational website, voice thread, blog spot, and wonderful resources for students and parents.

1. Five thing that made me…..Think about this course, I know there was a great deal packed into it, but please reflect on 5 things that made you say WOW or an AH HA moment or something you learned that was completely new to you.

There were numerous things that made me say WOW or AH HA during this course but the my first pick would have to be Letterpop.  I have shared this cite will many people who are now using it in their classroom.  Voicethread once I got a mic was very fun and a new creative way to post voice on the internet.  The website was also a fun but challenging assessment that I hope I will be able to use in my future classroom.   Blogging is another wonderful tool for networking people together.  The final WOW would be the virtual field trip.  I had a great time creating this project and I think this will be very beneficial for my students.

2.What tools will you use in the future or keep using and why? There are two great tools that I will take from this class and use in my classroom.  Letterpop is great because this will allow me to create fun exciting newsletter to send home to the parents and allow parents to view online.   The second is the ability to generate website with ease.  This program is simple and students we likely enjoy creating their own websites.

3.What tool do you think you will use in personally outside your classroom and why? Personally from this class I will use the WordPress for blogging one with family and friends and the other for my students.  I think may times getting students exposure to various means of media is really what a great teacher does.  Online communication now allows us as educators to chat with other professionals and students in a setting that otherwise would not have been possible 10 years ago.

4. What was your favorite Podcast presenter and why?  My favorist podcaster would have to Warlick’s podcast.  All of his podcasts were educational and allowed me to grow as a professional educator.  There were many great tools that he talked about that I now use on a daily basis and would like to incorporate into my own classroom.

Other Websites

5.Take time and view your classmates websites, what three are your favorites and why? URL’s are posted in Moodle. Paul Carver’s website is very unique which I believe sets it apart from many other sites.  I found it easy to navigate and enjoyable.  This website will be a great addition to his classroom instruction. Krystal’s website has a fun vibe and is very user-friendly.  I think that my favorite addition on here site was that it was organized and it had pics of the students which helps them get excited about learning and benign in her classroom. Meagan Etheridge’s website has a lot of information from classroom arrangement to student assignments can be easily reached.  It looks as if she has spent a great deal of time creating this website.  Good work all the way around.

MY WEBSITE

6. Now that you have a website of your very own, reflect about your own website and what will you change, what you like about it & what do you dislike. Please post the URL address at the end of your reflection.

My website is easy to navigate and I used the same page layout thought-out the entire website design.  I have many links on every page so parents and students don’t always have to go back to my homepage but can go to almost everywhere from every screen.  One thing that I dislike about my webpage is it is hard to update because I am running thought the scatcat server and FTP is not the way I like to spend my Friday nights.  Overall I am very pleased with how my website turned out and will be adding the web address to my resume so future employers can see my work.
